Apple’s version of Xbox Game Pass, Apple Arcade has leaked some info (mspoweruser.com)
- Works the same way as Game Pass but comes with a 1 month free trial, costs $5/month
- This service is meant to compete directly Xbox Game Pass and Google Stadia
- Apple Arcade is expected to launch this fall to coincide with the next iPhone release
- It is unclear if this service will have games other than mobile but it is likely
Sony may bring some of their exclusive library of games to other platforms (ComicBook.com)
- “We must support the PlayStation platform — that is nonnegotiable,” said PlayStation boss Shawn Layden while speaking with Bloomberg. “That said, you will see in the future some titles coming out of my collection of studios which may need to lean into a wider installed base.”
Unfold Studios points out contradictions that the Epic Store wants to help developers (YongYea)
- Epic approached dev to have game come to the Epic Store to be a timed exclusive
- The developer turned it down due to the game being in top 50 wishlisted on Steam after its trailer and asked to sell the game on the Epic Store but not as an exclusive
- Epic declined his offer saying they are not interested in games that simship
- So basically if you do not sign the exclusivity deal you are barred from the Epic Store
GameStop laid off 100+ people across its stores including its corporate HQ on Tuesday along with half of the editorial staff of their subsidiary Game Informer….this is super shitty (Kotaku)
